Writing fiction that affirms diverse identities through lived experience.

Hi! I’m Stella Winslow, writer of sci-fantasy romance centring neurodiverse, anxious characters in otherworldly plots. I write queer-normative fiction, representing different sexualities and identities in an accepting and loving light.

On the side of penning my debut series, The Fates, I post writer’s craft and lifestyle content regularly on Substack and semi-frequently on Instagram.

When not hyper-focused and typing away, I can be easily found drinking copious amounts of tea, collecting stickers and art prints, decorating my home, reading an array of genres, and spending time with loved ones.

About Me

A smiling Stella, with glasses and long dark hair sitting in an office, holding a green mug that says 'Shhh... I'm Reading,' with a background of colorful artwork and a computer.

Fun Fact!

I love autumn & I’m a Scorpio

Some manuscripts in various stages of revision

People ask me when I began writing, often assuming that it was recently. Instead, I say that I’ve spent more time with words than much else.

I was 11 when I wrote my first 121-page manuscript. I typed it out on my iPod Touch using the Notes app. Then, 13 when I revised it. At 16, I self-published a 300-pager that ran for a limited batch.

My Story

The Fates est. July 2024

The Fates is the first series (~3-4 books) in a new world, ready to be explored. A duology will follow, featuring side characters, then a spin-off series of ~5 books. As you can imagine, this is a lot to plan!

For a brief synopsis, The Fates follows a pair of fated mates, planning to leave Earth, which means leaving the lives they’ve created as aliens. Expect:

  • Action-packed space travel

  • Time travel

  • Intricate planets

  • A complex language system

  • Steamy, green-flag romance

  • Strong female characters

  • Found family

  • Secret societies…shh!

  • Diverse representation with plenty neurodivergent, non-binary, bisexual/pansexual, sapphic, BIPOC, and disabled characters
